MCSA Leadership
Meet the Leaders Behind Major County Sheriffs of America

Message From The President,

I am humbled and honored to have been elected by my fellow sheriffs as President of the Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA). As leaders in our field, the members of this organization stand ready to address the most pressing public safety issues facing our communities, states, and nation.

The Major County Sheriffs of America represents those men and women responsible for protecting and serving over 100 million Americans. As sheriffs, we are directly accountable to the people we serve. Our members meet regularly to share their diverse experiences, extraordinary knowledge, and innovative solutions to difficult problems. The MCSA provides a platform for us to come together, discuss key issues and speak with one voice as we share and adopt best practices, enhance public safety and security, and improve the quality of life in our communities. We also play a key role in influencing the development of legislation that protects Americans and supports America’s law enforcement officers, and in opposing legislation that is detrimental to public safety.

I am committed to building on our past successes, and to advancing both new and existing endeavors, including appropriate collaboration and partnerships with the Administration, Congress and our federal law enforcement colleagues. By forging and building on strong relationships, we can better address such difficult challenges as the fentanyl-related death epidemic, border protection and security, and working to defeat the insidious drug cartels that flood our communities with illicit narcotics.

Likewise, as leaders in our profession we must work in concert with other community stakeholders to provide the best possible service to mentally ill people in crisis, and when possible work to keep them out of the criminal justice system. Recognizing the critical importance of mental wellness within law enforcement and corrections, I am also dedicated to prioritizing the wellness of our deputies so that they can better serve those who live in our communities. Through focused advocacy and action in these areas, we can contribute to a more holistic approach that addresses a variety of mental health-related challenges.

I am enthusiastic about our collective journey as we continue to work together to positively impact our profession and our communities. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the MCSA.
