On Sunday evening, the Miami-Dade Police Department announced that Captain Tyrone White, the father of Patriots running back James White, was killed in a car crash on Sunday afternoon in Cooper City, Florida. His wife and James White’s mother, Lisa White, was also in the crash and later airlifted to a hospital. The Patriots running back was inactive for the Patriots’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and it was clear he was on the mind of all his teammates.

According to the Broward County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. When police arrived on the scene, there were two cars, one flipped and the other one on fire. Tyrone White was pronounced dead at the scene while two others were airlifted to a hospital.
