Officer Shot At Las Vegas Strip Black Lives Matter Protest

Officer Shay Mikalonis, 29, was shot yesterday, June 1, during protests over the death of George Floyd. A family statement, released on Twitter by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Clark County), said he is paralyzed from the neck down, unable to speak, and is expected to stay on a ventilator. The suspect in the shooting has been charged with attempted murder.

With the emergence of the hashtag #PrayForShay trending on social media, a Facebook page was created for people to offer their regards.
