Person of Interest Detained In Ambush Killing Of LASD Deputy Clinkunbroomer

MCSA expresses its deepest sympathy to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, for the passing of Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer who died after being ambushed while sitting in his patrol car near the Sheriff’s Department station in Palmdale.

A civilian discovered Deputy Clinkunbroomer had been shot and contacted authorities. Deputy Clinkunbroomer was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Deputy Clinkunbroomer was 30 years old and had worked as a Field Training Officer for the Palmdale station since 2018. His father and grandfather also served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Clinkunbroomer had also just recently announced his engagement four days ago.

As of September 5th, there have been 83 ambush attacks on law enforcement, resulting in 101 officers being shot with 15 of them being wounded fatally.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheriff Luna, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the friends and family of Deputy Clinkunbroomer. May he rest in peace and be remembered for giving the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Update On Fiancée Of Murdered Deputy Clinkunbrooker In Palmdale

Brittany Lindsey got engaged to Deputy Clinkunbroomer just four days before he was shot and killed while sitting in his patrol car outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. On Wednesday, Lindsey spoke for the first time since her fianceé’s murder, during a press conference announcing charges against his alleged murderer.

Her fairytale wedding tragically will not take place. Kindly though, Alyssa Nicole McVay, the photographer for the couple’s engagement and planned wedding has started a fundraiser to help less the financial burden this incident puts on Lindsey. Update On Suspect In Clinkunbooker’s Murder

The man accused of killing Deputy Clinkunbooker was detained earlier this week and pleded not guilty by reason of insanity in a courtroom in Lancaster on Wednesday.

29-year old Kevin Cataneo Salazar faces one count of murder with special circumstances of lying in wait, firing from a car and personal use of a firearm, a .22-caliber revolver, according to the criminal complaint.

His mother, Marle Salazar, told the Los Angeles Times her son was diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic about five years ago and had attempted suicide in the past.
