Riverside County Sheriff Deputy Brett Harris Dies After On-Duty Injury – California

26 year old Deputy Brett Harris died on the eve of Mother’s Day last week, from a catastrophic brain injury he sustained from a patrol vehicle crash the morning prior, while responding to a call-for-service.

Deputy Harris leaves behind a wife, mother and father, twin sister and a brother.

Information on the crash that killed Harris has not been released, but it is known that another deputy was injured in the crash, as well as the driver of the other vehicle.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. 

MCSA and all its members have expressed our condolences to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Chad Bianco, and the friends and family of Deputy Harris. Especially during National Police Week (Sun, May 14, 2023 – Sat, May 20, 2023). May he rest in peace and be remembered for giving the ultimate sacrifice and for his final selfless act to help others in need.
