We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lt. Kent Vnuk. Lt. Vnuk of Hennepin COunty, MN, who died after suffering a medical emergency this past weekend. Lt. Vnuk proudly served the citizens and community of Hennepin County since 1997 (24 years). During his tenure with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Vnuk touched many lives within the agency, especially those who volunteered their time as Special Deputies. He served the community with distinction and built relationships in every role he held in the agency, including Court Security, Water Patrol, Enforcement Services, Employee Development, Special Operations and, most recently, the Adult Detention Division. Lt. Kent Vnuk was a colleague, leader, and most importantly a friend to so many. He will be dearly missed.
