The Kern County Sheriff’s Office announced the sudden death of a deputy last Friday. Officials said Deputy Martin Rodriguez died Friday after suffering an unknown medical condition at his home. He was 43 years old.

Deputy Rodriguez was hired as a Deputy Sheriff on January 17, 2009, and his most recent assignment was to the Sheriff’s Office Transportation Unit.

Funeral services are pending.
