Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Loses Two Deputies In The Line Of Duty
On behalf of the Executive Board, we write to express MCSA’s deepest sympathy to our member, Cobb County Sheriff (GA) Craig D. Owens for the passing of Deputy Marshall Ervin Jr. and Deputy Jonathan Koleski. Deputies Ervin and Koleski were ambushed and shot while in the process of serving a warrant yesterday. The two suspects believed to be responsible are in custody at this time. Deputy Ervin was 38 years old and joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2012. He is survived by a wife and two children. Deputy Koleski was 42 years old and joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2007. He is survived by a wife.
If you would like to support the families of Deputies Koleski and Ervin, donations can be made to the Fallen Personnel Fund through the Cobb Sheriff’s Foundation.
We’ve supplied a local article that did a great job of summarizing the events of what happened to Deputy Calata and paid a just tribute to telling his life story.
