Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Loses Two Deputies In The Line Of Duty

On behalf of the Executive Board, we write to express MCSA’s deepest sympathy to our member, Cobb County Sheriff (GA) Craig D. Owens for the passing of Deputy Marshall Ervin Jr. and Deputy Jonathan Koleski. Deputies Ervin and Koleski were ambushed and shot while in the process of serving a warrant yesterday. The two suspects believed to be responsible are in custody at this time. Deputy Ervin was 38 years old and joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2012. He is survived by a wife and two children. Deputy Koleski was 42 years old and joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2007. He is survived by a wife.
